The Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra 2023. Pravu Jagannath .Balbhadra and Subhadra are setting out for their grand possesion tomorrow.The festival is mainly celebrated in puri , Orissa. A lot of devotees of lord Jgannath used travel a long distance only to vist lord Jagannth maha pravu.

This rath yatra holds a vast significans among the Hindus . This is one of the most auspicious occations among the hindu community.this day is celebrated in the dwitiya tithi of sukla paksha in the month of ashadha this year it will be on 20th june 2023.

RITUALS OF RATH YATRA

On this day the idols of lord Jgannath ,Balbhadra & Subhadra were brougt out of the temple and placed in a big chariot (Rath) it is believed by the people that those who pull the sacred rope of the chariot will be blessed by pravhu Jagannath.and they get rid of their obstacles in their life .

At first the chariots visit the gundicha temple known as their aunt there different types of food items are offered to them.they stay there for seven days and again return to their original temple.

there were many other rituals also that are the three chariots were decorated differently by the priests .and Jagannath devotees used to clean the road with a golden broom and sprinkle sandel itra every where on the road
